The Zumba Fitness is so fun and it isn't like a stiff workout.  You can have fun and burn calories.  That makes it really awesome.  I am also enjoying that I have a friend to keep me motivated also doing this blog and having the Weight loss group on Facebook is a great way of keeping up with EVERYONE!  I am so so in hopes of keeping this new lifestyle change and enjoying a better me!

January 14, 2012

For anyone and all that have been reading my posts I apologize for not posting lately due to havine walking phnemonia and a virus.  I've been on antibiotics and cough syrup for a week.  Also, my youngest daughter had to have some teeth pulled due to one baby tooth breaking off under the gum line.

Anyway, my doctor told me when I went to him on Monday that I've lost 6 pounds since Christmas...I was shocked!

Anyway, this post is going to be short due to cough meds kicking in.

However, I do start Zumba this week and I'm looking forward to it.  Plus I am still praying that this phnemonia clears up all the way since my lungs are kinda tired!

Everyone stay motivated and keep thinking positive weight loss is possible and we can al do it together!

January 3, 2012

Today was another good day...for the most part.  Regarding my willpower and determination...pretty good I would say...regarding daily stuff...Mom's house had serious issues (pipes froze and heat quit).  Thank goodness I called hubby and he got it all straight and she can rest well tonight.

I had two cups of coffee this morning no sugar, my downfall was a pack of lance nabs...yeah i know.  For lunch I had 3 oz of chicken, little cheese in a wrap (fajita) plus I had a small 2 to 3 inch long ear of corn.  I also had some pretzels for a snack with a diet dr pepper.  Look I know they say aspartame isn't good for you but if you take everything away all at once from a person it could get ugly!  Trust me!  LOL  For supper I had a whole grain thin bread with light mustard and thinly sliced chicken breast.  My evening snack was a cup of popcorn.  All together when added up I ate a total of 1120 calories..awesome!

Seriously wanted to get on treadmill today BUT with moms house issues and the freezing temps we had stuff to prepare for tonight.  I did however get some useful info from a friend and downloaded a new app on my Android "my fitness pal"...keeps up with calories, exercise, friends, scans barcodes...its awesome!

Also, another friend and I have been talking and we have it set up now for 2 days a week doing ZUMBA!  I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

stay warm everyone....i'm gonna go wrap up :)

January 2, 2012

WOW!  For a Monday today has gone really well.  It was my first day back at work since almost 2 wks ago from the holiday vacation and let me tell you I was so happy to be back with the wonderfull crew I work with.  They will make you laugh!

I didn't sleep well last night but I accidently forgot to take my Fibromyalgia meds so that could of been a cause plus the anxiousness of getting back to work.  Anyway, I started my day around 5am with 2 cups of sugarfree coffee flavored with hazelnut and a banana.  It was yummy...seriously! I got off my school bus route and came home and had two more cups of sugarfree coffee with a bit of hazelnut flavor...OMG...I'm hooked on it now.  It got my day started great!

At around 9am or a bit after I head on back to work to start my day in the child nutrition...for lunch I had a small baked chicken breast, beans and peaches with water flavored with crystal light.  That hit the spot.  Once we were done I always go change and just take a break before getting back on my bus.  I had a Diet Dr Pepper a small apple and 10 little pretzel chips.  Believe it or not this was actually satisfying.  I seriously doubted that some of these little snacks and such would work but it is actually very good and has kept me satisfied.

When I got home from the long day I was actually still in a great mood and spirits are still up.  I warmed up some Blackeye Peas for my supper with a bottle of water w/ crystal light peach tea and later had a snack of a jello fruit cup and a small string cheese stick.

The cold weather has seriously got me a bit under the weather ...not sick but just blah.  The temps here are getting right to plumit down to the teens and between my Fibromyalgia and Bursitis I don't fare very well in the cold.  I do better in warm temps!  I am hoping to get my schedule figured out better with my exercising.  However tomorrow at work is my day to do lots of movement!!  I should be sweating at some point :)

Best Wishes to everyone in their New Year endeavors!

Lets knock these pounds out of here!!!!

January 1, 2012

First things first....HaPpY nEw YeAr !!!!

Well today has gone exceptionally well considering I've been off work since December 21, 2011 and tomorrow we go back to work.

This morning consisted of an English Muffin with one egg and one slice of bacon with a 1/4 of a cup of grits.  Believe it or not it kept me full for quite sometime! Anyway, My lunch consisted of whole grain thin bread with 2 thin slices of chicken breast 1/2 tsp of mayo and a 100 calorie low fat cottage cheese with blueberries.  It was GOOD!  I am still finding out that since I quit smoking somethings taste really good now!  ...lol...who knew!?!  Okay I will finish out the day with supper which consisted of a good ole southern tradition of blackeye peas I had approx 3/4 of a cup and 1/2 a piece of smoked sausage.  I had to be a bit realistic and not leave myself out on this ritual.

All in all the entire day has gone fairly smoothly.  I've done little things around the house and cooked and taken my time.  I am also working on an exercise schedule.   I would rather do this blog later but I decided I wanted to go ahead and do this so I can finish up some loose ends and preparing for the work week.  You all know how that goes!

I really am feeling blessed and dedicated...I also tweaked my Goal Schedule as in yes I want to reach my 50 pound weightloss goal BUT I want to lose 6 of those pounds this month.  I am hoping that by making myself look at it as losing 6 pounds in 31 days is a bit easier on the mind ...I'm not just looking at that final goal its the little ones to get me to the big one.  Does this make sense?

Well...I also did not weigh myself this morning.  I know what I weighed few days ago so I'm going to stick with that as my beginning number and go from there.

Come on y'all this should be easy.

Ok I'm going to get off of here and I will update things tomorrow evening on how my day goes.  Keep me in your prayers and I will do the same for everyone else.

Thank you!!

The Beginning

Today is December 31, 2011 and I am going to be starting a new journey on bettering my lifestyle and making many changes for a healthier me.

I want to just let you all know a bit about myself first.  On December 24, 2010 I made another huge decision to bettering my lifestyle by quitting smoking.  Today marks 372 days since I have been smoke free! This is a huge accomplishment for anyone and I am very happy that I have done this for not just myself but my family.  I am married to a wonderful man going on 14 years in February of 2012 and we have two beautiful daughters ages 13 and 10.  My husband works full time as do I.

This blog will consist of a day to day log of what I have experienced through the next year of trying to lose 50 pounds.  My hope of this is so that I can grow as a person and have a way of documenting what i'm going through emotionally & physically.  Also, my hope is that this will also work as a way of keeping me devoted to this new change!

Thank You
